FB22-Caen

Description

The next International Conference on Few-Body Problems in Physics (FB22) will be held in Caen, France from the 9 to 13 July 2018. This will be the 22nd edition in the conference series which began in 1959 in London and was most recently held in Chicago (2015) and Fukuoka (2012).

Following tradition FB22 will cover a broad range of topics - both theoretical and experimental - with the aim of bringing togther diverse communities to share and debate ideas in few-body physics.

Subjects to be covered will include:

      • Few-body aspects of atomic and molecular physics
      • Hadron and related high-energy physics
      • Strange and exotic matter, including hypernuclear physics
      • Few-nucleon systems, including QCD inspired approaches
      • Few-body aspects of nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics
      • Interdisciplinary aspects of few-body physics and techniques

In addition to plenary and parallel sessions, a dedicated poster session will be organised.  Keynote speakers will be encouraged to make their talks accessible to the entire community.  All invited and contributed presentations, including posters, will be included in the conference proceedings.

We note that as the conference is being supported in part by the IUPAP, FB22 will be conducted in accordance with IUPAP principles.  In particular, no bona fide scientist will be excluded from participation on the grounds of national origin, nationality, or political considerations unrelated to science.

FADDEEV MEDAL

FB22 will also be the venue for the presentation of the first Faddeev Medal, which has recently been established jointly by the European (ERCFBP) and American (GFB) few-body communities.  The award will include presentations by the two winners of the medal at a dedicated session on the Wednesday.
